When you start a new routine for dieting, it’s often helpful to accompany it with exercise but you don’t have to overdo it. This helps your heart, benefits your body and builds some muscle… the more muscle you have, the more calories you need so get going! Here are some simple ones:
Walking at a slow pace burns 200-300 calories per hour… have a dog? give him an extra hour’s walk every few days. I worked out, depending on your weight, you burn roughly 100 per mile.
Pushing the lawnmower round the garden can burn up to 500 per hour! How clean will your garden be this year?
Swimming even a slow breast stroke can burn nearly 600 calories, 940 if you’re a strong, fast swimmer!
Wii Boxing (from the sports package) is reported to burn around 500 per hour and other fitness games are supposed to help too.
When you earn those extra calories, eat them back, it helps motivate you to move and you can carry on enjoying the things you love.
